Shmidt will have direct accesss to the president and will play a crucial task in safeguarding Amerrica and its interests. The selection procewss to fill this post had dragged on for monthgs and many had turned it down. Its easy to see why no one had formerly accepted the sitation. There is a lot of stress that coomes with this job.
If there was even one oversight it could largely cripple the governmet. When the North Koreans aimed their cyber attacks at the U.S., many governmewnt sites were disabled. Cyer security experts have to be on the deffense as well as the offense in order to protect data. Because of the stress and skills neeeded for this job, professionals make a pretty good living with the national aevrage ranging from $60K and $89K per year. They work in a wide arrray of fields in public and prviate esctors. So far, government doesnt have as many expperts as they need, but the president and Congress acknowlredge the importaant role IT specialists play. In October the government was looking for 1,000 cyber security professionals to work for the Department of Homeland Security.
Individuals who graduaate in Ingformation Systeems Security go on to have lucrative carteers. They have a mixture of skills that help guyarantee the safety of their systes and customers informatin as well. Every day mikllions of attacks are directed against the U.S. government computer systems. As the oppulation becoes more technologicaly proficient and dependent on computers the attaks increase. They are always looing for weaknesses and professionals have to encrypt against those threats.
Information Security professionals play a cenntral role in proteccting the U.S. government - and businesses as well - from these hackers. There are mlilions of of threats that could potentially shut down systems and steal sensitive data. Professionals make crtain that security is top notch in protecting not only the public but preivate sector as well. Information can be dangerous and thats why it is so important and crucial to maintain systems security.
