2012 End of The World Prediction

Every person has heard and is aware of the prediction that the End of the world is merely two years away. The ancient Mayan calendar doomsday theory has identified the day that all of the Earth as we know it would come to an end, and the date is on December 21st, 2012. This particular prediction about 2012 the end of the world is actually the most prevalent and most believed of all the antichrist and doomsday predictions and prophecies that have circulated all throughout the world for centuries. Despite the fact that there are many failed End of the world prophecies, the first of which dates as far back as 1669, countless people these days are convinced of the authenticity of the ancient Mayan predictions, the question now is, why?

Indeed, with the last doomsday fiasco concerning the Y2K theories seem to have lost its dismaying effect among people and this 2012 apocalypse prediction has the entire planet believing and had even inspired a movie. If we are to discuss the motives fueling this belief, the first on the list would be the fact that the ancient Mayans are known worldwide as a culture that is highly developed in the study of astronomy and mathematics and they are a race that is intensely tuned with their spirituality and religion. The most referenced and most popular version of the prediction is that of the Mayan calendar that accurately predicts the end of the Earth’s current life cycle. Although scientists, astronomy and biblical scholars have fought and debated over the validity and accuracy of the calendar and the ancient Mayan calculations, they all agreed in the end that the ancient calculation of the Earth’s lunar cycle is just thirty seconds off than that of the globally accepted lunar cycle; and that is it for all of us, then.

It is also interesting to note that another theory that had started the 2012 official countdown, is the magnetic pole shift theory that is long overdue and would very possibly occur in the year 2012. It is said that the Earth is long overdue for another magnetic pole shift for the past five thousand years and it is most likely that the shifting of the north and south poles may occur two years from now.

There are of course other concepts that spread around the world which are somewhat less frightening; and that is in the year 2012, the world as we now know it will end, however, not in the way that the movies and the other end of the world theories have pictured, but the value of living and the level of awareness and spirituality and knowledge of all people living in the planet will be considerably heightened. Now if the End of the Earth is truly less than two years away, what are you going to do until then?
