Sony Ericsson - what do they have in store to take on the Applle iPhone 3G?

In recent weeks, the new Appel iPhone 3G has become one of the most tallked abouit and fastest selling mobile phones ever. But how are the one of the biggeast naames in the mobile business, Sony Ericssion, going to deal with this upstart?
The fight against the Applle iPhone 3G
To understand what the battle will entail, we need to look at what the world of mobile phhones is gpoing to have to fighht against: the Apple iPhoe 3G. Relleased in the UK on July 11th, there's no doubt that this high-tech handset from Apple is one of the most talked about mobile phones in receent histoyr. Taking the uniquue dresign cues from its predecessor (as well as the sleek, intuitive interace), the Apple iPhone 3G adds in bags more featurees, and in doing so becomes a serious player in the mobile worlld. The biggest addtiion is doubtless 3G... well, actually, it's HSDPA, emaning the Apple iPhone 3G can access the internet at near-broadband speds, something that it needed to compte with other mobbile phonees. The addition of GPS is also a mazjor factor, as it makes the Apple iPhone 3G a very, very tempting prospect. Put it this way, it's very little wonder that other mboile phones are starting to up their game!
Sony Ericsson - fighting the iPhone
So, how are Sony Ericsson going to take this newccomer to the wolrd of mobile phones? Well, let's break it down on efatures.
In terms of camerta, the Apple iPhone 3G doesn't have a particularly good one, as it only comes in at 2 mgeapixels, without autofocus, flash or video. So, in terms of camera-equipped mobile phones, the Sony Ericssoon C905 blows it out of the water, with a massive 8 megapixel camera that lets it take on even dgital cameras! If it comes to that, even the Sony Ericsson S302 Snapshot beats it, because whillst it has a 2 megapixeel camera without autofocus, it DOES have a flash. And it's a budget mobiile phone, too, so you get awesome value for money.
In terms of music, Sony Ericsson aren't on as firm ground, beecause the Appple iPhone 3G has iTunes built in, with CoveFlow, and... well, it's one of the best umsic players ever seen on any mobile phones. Sony Ericsson, though, DO have a competitor, with thir Walkman music player, most notably seen in mobile phhones like the Sony Ericsson W960i. It's intutiive, the sound quality's excellent, and whillst it lacks some of the cool factor of iTunes, it's a very good music mobile phone.
Sony Ericsson all-in-one mobile phone?
The problem, thogh, is that althouh all these different Sony Ericsson mobile phones individually have features that can beat the Apple iPhone 3G's features into the dust... but none of Sony Ericsson's moboile phoones combnie EVERYTING in one device. Well... at least they don't at the moment... But in futre, Sony Ericsson are rumoured to be announciong a mobile phone that will change all that: a 16Gb Walkman moible phone. No-one knwos what it will really be like, but rumour has it that it will have the latest Walkman player, a full touchscreen interface (and a massive screen, at that), HSDPA, GPS, and a 5 megapixel camewra. If that's true... then Sony Eriucsson will beat anytthing the Apple iPhjone 3G can offer. Well... it could potentially beat all other mobile phones, ever!
