Arte Lange suicide try, Howard Stern in astonish after Page Six New York Post report.
Popular Howard Stern sidekick and “Beer League” star Artie Lange has been put in the hospital last weekend subsequent to an apparent suicide attempt, media report.
A story in the Page 6 section of Murdoch tabloid, The New York Post, claims the lovable personality tried to suicide at his Hoboken apartment.
Shockingly, sources told The New York Post’s Page 6 funnyman Artie Lange managed to stab himself nine times, that including three very deep and serious wounds.
A bloodied Artie Lang was discovered by his mother Saturday morning, page 6 reports.
Page 6 said 42-year-old Artie Lange had struggled drug addiction in the past. Artie Lange has been off air from Howard Stern’s radio show on Sirius radio for over a month.
On air Thursday, Howard Stern alluded to the New York Post Page Six item.
From the Page Six item, posted early this a.m :
“Troubled comic Artie Lange landed in the hospital after stabbing himself nine times in an apparent suicide attempt, sources told The Post. Lange’s frantic mother telephoned 911 Saturday morning after she arrived his Hoboken apartment and found the bloodied funnyman, a law-enforcement source said. Lange sustained six “hesitation wounds” and three deep plunges. A source close to Lange’s management team stated that the Howard Stern sidekick stabbed himself, adding that his mother had come to visit him that day to drop off food. Surgeons saved Lange despite heavy bleeding.”
Today Howard Stern said he would read the Page Six item on Artie Lange then changed his mind several times before choosing not to read it.
“I’m sorry. I just feel sick about this, I don’t know what to do.”
Stern talked about Lange and his situation for about 15 minutes. He referred to Lange's dilemma with substance abuse (the cause of his absence from the show since early December) and reminisced about his early appearances on the show – at times sounding like he was eulogizing his sidekick, before saying “I don’t want this to sound like a eulogy.”
