Buy a Car Wisely by Finding Low Used Car Prices

By: Norman Kirby

Most people don't have enough money to buy a new car, which is why they often look for used cars for sale. However, most car dealers trick buyers and coax them to purchase used cars at high prices only to find out that these are defective and lacking in internal parts. This dirty system leads most people to not trust these kinds of people. But if you really need a functional car at lower used car prices, you can still find many true sources out there that are not car dealers.

The first basic source that you can rely on is government auction sites. Many government departments conduct auctions like Housing and Urban Development, IRS, Defense, Postal Services and FBI. Some cars are taken and being auctioned off because these were used for criminal purposes. Other cars were taken by force by the government when the loan used for these was not paid accordingly. The government would do anything to get rid of these cars, so do expect that you will get these starting from $500.

The second basic source of affordable used cars is bank auction sites. The bank and other lending institutions also have the authority to claim the owner's car if he did not comply with the payment rules. This kind of action is also applicable to mortgages and bankruptcy declarations. Once the bank or lending institution has these cars, they would auction these to get back the money lost. Bank auctions are rarer than government auctions so try to look for the bank's schedule.

The third source of cheap used cars is car rental companies. Almost all of these companies buy new automobiles to give high quality car services to travelers. The old cars are then sold to car dealers and people to get rid of these in their stock. To buy one, you must contact the company through phone, email, letter or through their own website.

The fourth source is car dealer auction sites. Car dealers also conduct auctions to remove any automobiles that are not selling. Few car dealers open auctions to the public because most of these auctions are for other certified car dealers only. You must also keep in mind that these auctions also offer a limited number of used cars from other car auctions so it is best not to be picky.

The fifth source is classified ads from private owners. Checking the classified ads section is a wonderful choice for people who want to make a decent offer to the seller. Most private sellers would accept any offer for disposing the car and earn some money which will be a good opportunity to find a great car with less the price tag. You can look into the newspaper everyday or turn on your computer and internet connection and search for free classified ads on the internet. But, you must have a concrete proof about the details of your transaction so you can get help from the court when a car scam happens. You must also be aware of the different trading rules in all states so that you will not break the law.

Here are your sources to find low used car prices. Remember that the other characteristic that your selected car must have other than the price is its durability.
