DVD Movie Reviews: Opening the "Toy Story" Chest

By: Jessie Stone

"Toy Story 3" is one of this year's most anticipated films. The DVD movie reviews for this film show what it has to offer its fans aside from its critically acclaimed story that took 15 years in the making.
When the first "Toy Story" came out in 1995, audiences from all over the world were enchanted with the movie's breakthrough in the then brand new computer generated animation realm. It didn't hurt that the story and the characters managed to tug at all the right heartstrings of the audience. A sequel was inevitable in 2001, though a sequel to the sequel...well that was a little tricky. But as always, Pixar pulled off another astounding feat by actually making a "sequel to the sequel" that audiences were thoroughly satisfied with. The 9 year wait was well worth it.
In "Toy Story 3" Andy is now bound for college, putting Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), and the rest of the "Toy Story" gang in a predicament with regards to their fate once Andy leaves the house. Though originally intended to be stored in the attic, the toys-minus Woody-get packed off to Sunnyside Day Care Center by mistake. Initially relieved, Buzz and the others soon realize that the kids of Sunnyside can be a bit of handful bunch and the toy gang doesn't have enough limbs to spare. It's up to Woody to break out his friends before the rambunctious kids and the conniving toys led by the embittered strawberry-scented Lots-o'-Huggin' (Ned Beatty) of Sunnyside break them.
Audiences who have been charmed by "Toy Story" since the start can now complete the entire series with the recent release of the "Toy Story 3" DVD movie reviews of which have been positively glowing.
One of the appeals of getting a movie in DVD format is the inclusion of extra features which extends the viewer's fun through previews of upcoming movies, behind the scenes look at production, and amusing bonus material from the filmmakers which can be exclusively accessed in the DVD. And the "Toy Story 3" DVD does not disappoint.
As the closing DVD to the "Toy Story" franchise, the filmmakers have packed the DVD to the brim with hours of exclusive special parting features that would surely amuse the fans of the film, both young and old alike, as they relive the laughs and tears shared with Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the "Toy Story" family.
"Toy Story 3"'s special extras include a teaser for "Cars 2" which is slated to be released next year in theaters, the theatrical short "Day and Night", and even throws in a music video featuring the Spanish version of the theme song "You've Got a Friend in Me" by Alex Syntek. Fans are in for a treat because of bonus features like "The Gang's All Here", "Toys! Epilogue", and "Buzz Lightyear Mission Logs: The Science of Adventure with NASA". Plus, there's an assortment of behind the scenes footage documenting the creation of everybody's beloved "Toy Story" world: "A Toy's Eye View: Creating a Whole New Land", "Paths to Pixar", and many more.
