Farmville Addiction

By: Trace Livengood

There are few other games that have as a stanch following as that of the widespread web based game, Farmville. When you first learn of the title you wouldn't imagine it to be nearly as enthralling as it seems to be. The unlearned gamer would more than likely say, "A agricultural game? How could that possibly be stimulating in any way? I'd much rather shoot up some nazis or zombies with my pals!" Why is it, then, that Farmville has become such a force in the web based gaming world?

1. Continuity. This is a game with uncluttered possiblities. You may participate only a not many hours a day, but the game goes on all the time. This way you never discern what to be expecting when you return to play. You unquestionably can't say the same for a large amount games widely played on video game consoles.

2. Human participation. Several people enjoy the "company" of others over the internet. When you play most games web-based however, your dealings only affect other players as long as you and the other people are in game at that actual moment. Given the power to help a different human being while they're away and to have that player see the work of the good Samaritan is a feeling that can not be felt anywhere else but real life.

3. The idea of agricultural is therapeutic and conspicuously humanistic. Human development developed within crop growing and animal raising. This is what initially pulled us all together into communities. There is no wonder that identical initiative is pulling us jointly (except this time for our enjoyment rather than for survival) again! There is something uniquely rewarding about raising vegetation for food or wealth from the seed, and the same can be said for raising farm animals. This is the skill that the our primeval ancestors proudly depicted in their papyrus writings as having been given to us by the gods.

4. An limitless variety of events and unique situations bestow players interesting possibilities to better their in-game situation.

5. Themes and straightforward artwork. The graphics of the game are airy and crisp while remaining beautifully simplistic. This interface allows the player a very intuitive grasp on gameplay. This makes the game rightly "pick-up-and-play." There is to all intents and purposes no learning curve, but a load of knowledge to acquire when it comes to how to do things best for optimum return. There are themes on hand that will be sure to delight any player with a certain liking for the tropical to the sophisticated French countryside.

6. The music. Generally players would rarely consider the background music to the game as an addictive trait, however I reason that this is one of the main basics that attracts us Farmville players back again and again. After a long day in the office or school with teachers yelling, coworkers or students moaning and whining, and cars honking and screeching how can you not resist the restful melodies that eminate from your speakers the second you load up Farmville? When that music begins I know that I won't be leaving the couch for a good hour or few.
