Horse Racing Systems do not have to be complicated.

I think that some people expect too much from horse racing systems. I see advertisements claiming that you can make £50,000 a year from one system or another for a lay system with an 89% success rate. But these figures really mean nothing, even if the results go your way, a fortune is not going to fall into your lap. To make £50,000 you will have to bet big stakes that may be well be beyond your wallet. An 89% success rate is no good if the other 11% all win at 10/1 or greater.
Forget all these wild claims of instant wealth and get your greed under control. Horse racing systems can be profitable over time and produce a steady income. To do this however you have to have a system that is based on sound principles and accept that there will be losing periods at times. It is also important to realise that profitable horse racing systems are for long term profit not quick get rich fanatics.
Often simplicity can be the key to a successful horse racing system. For instance if you discovered that when a certain trainer used a top jockey to ride his horse it would win 30% of the time this would give you the makings of a simple system. Obviously you would want to delve down a little bit further and see how the trainer did when he used his stables jockey or a lesser known rider. However, if the indications were that when the trainer really fancied one of his runners to win he would go out to get the best rider available this could be a very good pointer.
You could also look for trainers who when they have a top or near top weighted horse in a handicap will go out to get a top apprentice to ride so that they can benefit from their weight allowance. Some apprentices have a good record riding in top handicap races. Could there possibly be the makings of another system there?
The point I am making is that you can take some quite simple statistical facts, investigate them and come up with a profitable simple system. None of these are going to make you the £50,000 a season which some systems claim but they do have a couple of advantages, the first being that it will not cost you anything and the second is that you can be pretty sure that your simple system will work.
So keep it simple, do not get greedy and you will rake in a steady profit.
