You do not need me to sit here and tell you that in this world, it is almost impossible to search the internet without finding an adult site. What makes it even worse is most of the time you stumbled across that site on total accident. If you have children at home it is very important you protect their eyes from viewing a site that should not be viewed. In this article we are going to teach you how to filter certain sites on your computer.

1-Change your search settings

I know that by changing the settings on your search engine, you are not blocking sites from being viewed, but you are blocking them from showing up in the search. This is a huge help because the majority of people who surf the internet do it through a search engine. To change the settings is simple, all you have to do is go to the preferences and the search engines home page and select heavy filtering. Make sure you do a few searches to test out whether or not it worked.

2-Get a filtering software like Net Nanny

If you have never heard of a program called Net Nanny then you are going to want to learn more about it. Net Nanny will actually allow you to filter websites based off of what you want filtered. But it get's even better, you can do more than just filter websites. The program will allow you to take a look at your child's Facebook, Myspace, and AIM instant messaging.

3-Use a program called pure sight

If you are looking for a way to just filter websites that you do not want your children looking at the Pure Sight is probably the best bang for your buck. The reason it is much cheaper than Net Nanny is because you are not able to monitor the social networking sites or the instant messaging. But if you do not care about that then why not save some money right?
