Internet Linked to Rape

By: Aubrey Moulton

A small little Wyoming town known as Casper incorporates a population of about 50,000 and several of these are enrolled at Casper College. Life is slower paced and everyone knows their neighbor. It is a place where it is not a bit unusual to determine folks outdoors galloping on their horses, farming with their tractors, and not solely making a living but enjoying their lives.

It’s an extremely peaceful type of place where they care about each other. However, that picture has been contaminated. A Casper woman was battered and raped at knifepoint and left on the living room floor roped and immobile. And what is even additional extraordinary is that the attacker alleged he was invited by the victim to try to to this crime.

This tale appeared unbelievable however after police started investigating, they learned that the girl’s ex-boyfriend placed the incident and also the victim online. He's being accused and is facing charges of claiming and posting that the girl wished to be assaulted as half of a rape fantasy.
This situation shows that crimes occur everywhere. It isn't solely in massive cities but even in small rural towns. There are predators online and the web may be a approach for them to find the proper victim. Online ads that hint at sex and prostitution draw predators from all over.

Internet crimes are sometimes difficult for law enforcement officials to resolve. Prosecutor Mike Bonigen explained "tracking down who's concerned is relatively difficult...It's pretty straightforward to line up a false identity in cyberspace, so that is forever an issue. And of course, they need to make some overt act to really accomplish any of those things. We're not the thought police."

The victim who was raped a few days before the incident complained to the sheriff's department that there was a posting on Craigslist regarding her and it even included photos of her. The ad browse "Want a real man's man with no regard for women" police said. Craigslist took down the posting after the complaint was created but it wasn't fast enough. Someone older the ad and therefore the girl was raped.

The attacker evidently had even emailed backwards and forwards with the person he believed was the woman but it actually turned out to be her ex-boyfriend Jebediah Stipe a Marine based in Twentynine Palms, Calif., Stipe was arrested and is "being processed for administrative separation as a results of a pattern of misconduct at the time of the arrest" commented a spokeswoman for the Marine Corps.

The attacker has been charged with three counts of initial-degree sexual assault, one count of kidnapping and one count of aggravated burglary. Jebediah Stipes the former boyfriend is charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree sexual assault. Although these men were charged it brings up many queries concerning web safeguards and the way that interprets over into a private’s personal life. Everyone needs to take care online and unfortunately this woman was deeply wounded as a result of a psycho ex-boyfriend.
