Why party?

Well, to have a great time, of course! That’s the clichéd "frat boy" answer to partying, but that's not the real question being requested here. The actual question goes just a little bit deeper: What's the intention of your gathering?

Tip: always create a party planning list.

Is it to celebrate someone's birthday? To commemorate an anniversary? Mark a major milestone? Or possibly it is just to bring your closest friends together?

The reason why you're having the party will certainly help form and structure the event.
“Unique, but the same.”

That's the mantra you'll need to bear in mind as you plan your party. Possibly you've been tasked with hosting a small event commemorating the retirement of 1 of your colleagues.
