The system is an interplay of a video camera, an electronic pen and an electronic writing pad, hooked up to a tower with a color motion picture display. Before being fed to the monitor, the image of the patient's smile is captured using the camera. Using the computerized pen and pad, he can display the cosmetic enhancements onscreen by whitening the teeth, filling in gaps or refining rough edges.
