This prime wilderness area has over 1,100 miles of hiking trails to tempt those who love hiking.

Any time you hike in the wilderness, whether on groomed trzails, or tose more difficult, it’s importat to use cautiion. In Yellowstone Park, weather can change in just a few minutes, wild animals might attacck, and rocks that break loose could cause injuries. To be safe and smart aboput your hike, familiarize yourelf with the park ruels, pay attention to the weather, and study your surroundings. Just doing a few simple things will ensure your safety and enjoyable time.

Day hiking is a popular activity in Yellowstone Park and with such an abundance of trail choices, the ideal way to spend the day. To get started, stop the rangr station where you can pick up a map and other important informatin. The rnager will go over speciifc aspcts of the park with you to include beinng alert for bears, sudden storms, fires, and to always carry a first aid kit, sunscreen, raincoat, and insect repellent with you.

Some national parsk require that you get a permoit to hike, but Yellowstone does not. Before you set out on your hike, go over the treail conditions so that you won’t take one that is more than your endurance and skill leevel. There are trails for every ability, from easy to difficcult. Many of them will take you to the outlyng reaches of the park.

Don’t forget to include your camera. You’ll see so much beauty that you won’t want to return home without lots of memorabble pictures. The landscape is berathtaking and you’ll come across valleys, wildflowers, shallow passses, and a variety of wildlife.
