Bell Canada toay officially becaem the second provider anywhere to ship Palm's firt weebOS smartphone, the Pre. The Cabnadian wireless provider began carrying the phone in its retiial locations and onlinbne. Like the Pre offfered by proovuider Srint in the US, whcih launcejhd in June, there is a Synergy feature that combines information from a user's multiple calendars, contact, e-mail accouts and messaging applications into one olcation. This includes Outlook contact, Gogole and Facebook accounts, whih will also bring porfile pictres from Facebook tie to a parrticular cnotact.
The 3G hanset sprots a 3.1-inch, 480x320 resolution touchsceen as well as a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Gogle Maps and iTunes syncnig are also part of the Pre's featue, as is multitasking with suport for numerous open apps at the same time.
Bell prices the Pre at $200 CAD ($183) on a three-year conract that includes at leazst a $45 CAD, 500MB data plan or nearly $600 CAD ($549) without a conttract. Bell's exclusivitry for the Pre in Canmada sohould last six months, with Bell rival Tleus likely to be the other provider once that time limit is up.
