The Flight Pro Sim Review

By: Sean Knight

You can download this comprehensive flight simulator sofware package, FlightProSim from the internet.. There are over 100 aircraft and 20,000 distinctive airports with scenery from all over the planet available with the complete package (the base package features 20 aircraft, and airports with scenery around California).
Let’s start on my flightprosim review with the list of features:
FlightProSim starts with a series of screens that lets the pilot to choose the desired aircraft, and then the airport and runway. Features such as enhanced runway lighting, horizon effect, and specular effect (needed for the 3D graphic cockpits) are subsequently chosen. In this same area, the time of day, the weather and even the time of year is selected. In addition on this screen, the player can choose the Multiplayer option – competing over the Internet with other users, to fly in formation. Additionally, the player can choose to have the game be full screen or not.
Using advanced features (opened with the simple click of the mouse) the pilot can decide what equipment he or she wants to make use of – the keyboard only, or joystick (yoke and rudder pedals are also supported), or mouse. Also on these screens, the user can set altitude, if he or she prefers to commence in the air instead of on the ground, latitude and longitude, airspeed, heading, roll and pitch. Network connections are also set up here.
After making selections, the pilot pushes the Run button, and the aircraft engines starts, the cockpit view opens up, and the player is set to roll. These screens are easy to open and to read – particularly after one has read the PDF directions that are also downloadable from the Members section.
Moving on, let's look at more features..
As I mentioned previously, the base install package contains scenery for a small region around San Francisco. However, the whole world is available as a separate, and reasonable purchase. One downloads self-installation packs that have 10 degree by 10 degree chunks of scenery. This scenery is accurate and lifelike, because it’s based on vmap0 (a vector-based collection of Geographic information system (GIS) data about World. Level 0 is rather low resolution coverage of lakes, rivers, roads, railroads, cities, towns, and land cover.
The scenery and features don't mean much if you don't have high-quality aircraft to fly. To end my flightprosim review, I will say that over 100 aircraft are available (although 80 of them have to be downloaded – a uncomplicated process).
