There Are Good Cheap Hotels in Las Vegas

By: Darrin Hoelwer

Off of the strip you'll get some excellent rates on Las Vegas hotels. Some people don't object to staying off the strip, in fact should you stay at a place such as the Gold Coast, you can have yourself a nice Las Vegas type vacation without even going out of the hotel. The Gold Coast has very affordable room rates and they have got all of the facilities, including Health spa, bowling alley, arcade, headliner shows and a lot more. Its sister property the Orleans is likewise a nice value, and like the Gold Coast isn't too far off of the strip. The Orleans also offers the extra of offering extra-large hotel rooms, and in addition features a multiplex movie theater.

Further ways to economize on hotel rooms is with the Station casinos. You'll be able to go to their website and check the rates on all of them at once. They are scattered all around Las Vegas and Henderson, and even though none are very near the strip, they are of a reliable standard and have big modern casinos in them.

Downtown is a great alternative if you're looking for cheap hotels in Las Vegas. Down town is becoming considerably more visitor friendly lately, even family-friendly if you consider the Fremont Street Experience to be a family attraction. In the very least, if you do not stay downtown, make sure you bring the family at least once to check out the Fremont Street Experience as well as to tour about in various of the more interesting Hotel Casinos.

But if you are looking to sleep cheap, the El Cortez has been on top of our list for many years as the most affordable downtown hotel that is at least up to acceptable standards. It's all in all a 2 star hotel, but it’s clean and we've found rates there of late as low as $15 per night on weekdays.

If you choose to upgrade a little, Fitzgeralds as well as the Four Queens are a notch up from the El Cortez and are both suitable spots to stay, essentially in the 2 1/2 star area. These two casino hotels are constantly priced below the competitors.

The majority of visitors, however, are going to prefer to stay at the strip if they will be going to Las Vegas. Not to fret, there are several great values on various of the better hotel casinos at the strip. We commonly advise people start off with the Stratosphere, the Sahara and Circus Circus. All 3 of those sizeable casino hotels are historically very affordable, and give you access to the north portion of the strip.

More towards the center of the strip, the least expensive casino hotel we have found on average would be the Imperial Palace. It isn't only reasonable, but has a lot of great attractions including the world's best vintage automobile collection, not to mention the very popular Luau and Polynesian Revue. The Imperial Palace is also a monorail stop, which can be a big plus point.

The southern end of the Las Vegas strip is a favorite of a lot of people, including myself. Some of the newer and more remarkable casinos.are down there, such as New York New York, the Luxor, and on and on. Fortunately, several of these are connected by walkways and overpasses. My preferred cheaper hotels to stay at the southern strip are the Excalibur plus the Tropicana. Typically you can find no lower room rates than these two casino hotels, and they're absolutely in the midst of the southern portion of the strip.
