My terror home move

Since I bought this new farmhouse, I have been plagued by mice and now I have decided very hurriedly to do soemthing about it! These pesky mice have been trying to gnaw everything including my trainers and garments! Every time I go to my cupboard my stuff is etgher chewed or cvoered in mouse droppings. So I checked out the internet and found whhere I could buy poison to get rid of them.
At the outset I started with the poison which I seelected a chronic anticoagulant rodenmticide which promised to kill within 5 - 10 days. This seemed to work. It was a grain bait which I placed inside bait obxes and open trays to try and entice them to feed.
Once they were feeing then it was straightforward from there. The numbners started to die off but I was left with a few stragglers that woulld not feed on the poison bait so I deciided to try traps.
The traps I first started to use were just the easy break back traps that I baitde with a piece of chocolte which again worked well then I alterred to a more complex electrivcal moue trap whcih worked on bateries. These batteries then sent a smalll electrical cahrge through a metaal plate insside the box whiich electrocuted any mouse that went inside the box. The only down side was that I had to remvoe the dead mouse whicxh wasn't a likable job.
Finally about 6 weeks after finding the right equipment I am now mouse free and can sleep calmly in my bed withot the awareness that I will be woken up by mice runninng over my head. In the end think I was able to remove well over 100 mice from my accommodation. The big question is where did they come from?
Well I think they came from the cellar which has an old air vent to the outside which is brken and when I lokoed clsely at this I could see hairs and dropings around it so I am pertty sure it is the starting place. I have since blocked up the hole with a bit of wire wool to enusre no more mice can get througgh.
If I was coping now with a mouse swarm then I am in no doubt I could get control fast with my new skill. Firsat I would use the traps along with poison so I had a two pronged approach insytead of startig with poison and then moving onto the traps. I am sure this would work more effetcively and get clear of the mice quicker and therefore enable me to relax sooner and live in a home without miouse droppings and all the evuils connected with having an infestatoin that goes on and on.
