Wal-Mart wishes to defeat all its opposition

By: Greg Jackson

Wal-Mart and Amazon found themselves in a pricing battle over books. They were attempting to see who could go the lowest on books and some days ago Target joined in on the fun.

Wal-Mart is recognized for its eerie way of getting rid of competition wherever it goes and currently that it has stores in almost every market in the United States, it is going after additional establishments it may not have otherwise competed in opposition to.

The latest way that Wal-Mart is attacking a challenger is the launch of a “Geek Squad” similar home installation troop. It has confirmed that it has started a joint venture with N.E.W. Customer Service Companies to give in-home installation and setup for individuals who buy their electronics at Wal Mart.

It is going to go into effect promptly because Wal-Mart really wants to see the money that this kind of service can make for the holidays.

So, how much will this cost for the normal shopper? Well, Wal-Mart is said to be offering prepaid plans on gift cards which range between $99 and $399. The services that will be available incorporate television set up, wiring home theaters, wiring home networks and also beginning consultation and a lesson after the setup is accomplished (see, it does sound terribly like Geek Squad).

I find this to be beneficial to places that may have Wal-Marts but no Best Buys or extra locations that offer installation of any kind. Where I have your home, we are restricted to searching through the phone book to see if there is any person who can wire a home theater system (and there really isn’t). Even to get someone to fix our garage door opener took a call to a bigger city more than an hour from my home.
