You will find that basically all the systems have some form of speech but not all of them have the text to speech. When the system has built in text to speech capability, you will actually be told what street to turn on rather than just hearing "turn right in 500 feet".

There really is no right or wrong way to choose the design, the only thing that matters is if you like it. But if you find yourself driving different cars often, it is important to get one that allows you to switch from one car to another easily.
