Wouldn't You Like to Have a Badminton Set?

By: Peter Williamson

You are visiting your friends while watching the kids entertain themselves in the back yard. They are laughing and running around wildly while trying to play badminton. It's a game completely new to your children, but they certainly are enjoying themselves trying to hit the birdie over the net. You can tell they are getting a lot of exercise. At their age that is a great thing. It'll be a peaceful trip home if they're worn out. You hadn't thought about it in years, but now you remember that you had a badminton set when you were young and you really enjoyed the game. Maybe you should start again. You ask your friend where they bought their badminton set.

Your friend actually did a bit of research before they bought their set. You're a little surprised as he explains about all the differences between the various badminton sets. The set your friend has includes four racquets, a net and poles to put up the net. There are also guy lines that hold the poles in place. The net seems to be lower than you remember them being. You ask your friend about it. You find out that they had gotten a badminton set with a net that is narrower than the regulation size. That explains why the net doesn't look right. Your friend also says that they were not happy when they put the net up and found out that it was lower than expected. It hadn't been mentioned in the description and they hadn't even thought about net standards when they ordered it.

They were pleased with the rest of the set though. They had ordered a set with metal poles to support the net and so far they had held up. Other sets come with PVC poles. People usually aren't too fussy about a badminton set that they're getting for family fun and casual play. But there are variations between badminton sets, including different types of racquets. So do your research, read the product description carefully, and ask questions before you buy, so the badminton set you get is exactly what you want it to be.
